Arable

Growing high quality crops

Around 1000 acres of the estate are managed in an arable rotation, with our main cropping focused on producing feed wheat, followed by a break crop of either oilseed rape, or spring beans. Grass is also grown to feed our pedigree highland beef cattle and Lleyn pedigree sheep. These crops form part of the rotation to maximise soil health.

Our arable field operations are carried out for us on a ‘stubble to stubble’ basis by Steff Munks and his team. Our grain is stored in a purpose built grain store on the Estate, at Holme Farm, Kelby, before being sold through Frontier. To ensure that our grain is of the highest marketable quality, we are accredited under the Assured Scheme for Combinable Crops (ACCS).
